Blog-asana: Words on Yoga
Yoga: What Is It Good For?

We hear people tell us about the benefits of yoga no matter where we look.

"Slim your waist!"

"Center yourself!"

"Find balance!"

"Build core strength!"

"Your path to inner peace!"

"YOGA BODY!"

It's dizzying enough to knock anyone out of their tree, dancer, or bird of paradise.

As we get further into the OM Every Day challenge in the month of January, we'll be taking a closer look at the big question: Why are we doing this?

Over the next ten days, Blogasana will be looking into what a personal yoga practice is good for on a variety of levels.  The perspectives will vary, and please remember you are always welcome to share your own experiences, either here or on our Facebook page.

There will be several guest posts, and please feel free to write or comment if you'd like to share as well.

Topics to be covered, in no particular order:

- healing the body

- opening the heart

-building self-awareness

- doing emotional battle

- finding joy

All of which (or none of which) may be included in articles concerning:

- Yoga and the physical body

- Yoga as a spiritual practice

- Yoga as a mental/emotional tool

... and several other topics that we may have missed!

Warm namaste in this snowy wintery weather, be sure to stay safe and whole through the next few chilly months, and check back soon for more on "Yoga: What is it good for?" (Absolutely everything!)
